Governors Admissions Policy
The Governors of Blackwood Comprehensive School follow the Admissions Policy of the ‘Admissions Authority’, which is the LEA of Caerphilly County Borough Council. The procedures are set out in the ‘Starting Schools’ document published by the Local Authority.
Parents have the right to express their preference for a particular school. If a child is unable to gain admission, parents must decide to accept an alternative placement or to appeal to an independent committee. The appeal must be registered within 21 days of parents being notified of the decision not to admit their child to the chosen school.
